Students from the Department of Law at the University of Human Development (UHD) went on a tour to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, on 28 October, to visit the 2026 Erbil International Book Fair. The tour was overseen by the UHD Students’ Unit and sponsored by the Rwanga Foundation, which describes itself on its official Facebook page as a ‘non-governmental organisation working to make quality education accessible for everyone’.

Around 90 students from the department gathered early in the morning to board buses and begin the four-hour journey to Erbil. Once there, they explored the various sections of the fair before returning to their buses carrying bags of books.

The students also took the opportunity to visit the ancient Citadel of Erbil, located in the city centre. Accompanied throughout by several lecturers from the UHD Law Department, the students found the journey to be both educational and entertaining.
