The Students Unit at the University of Human Development opened a chess contest for both male and female student-athletes. A total of 16 athletes competed to reach the finals. The last round was held on 21st May 2025. Two students worked hard to take first place.
Ahmed Muhammed from Semester 8 in the Medical Laboratory Sciences Department and Rawaz from Semester 4 in the Information Technology Department played intensely; Ahmed Muhammed won the match.
The President of the University of Human Development, Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed, congratulated the participants and winners of the contest, and presented awards to the first and second place winners. He also thanked the Students Unit for organising the activity and stated that his university prioritises sports and entertainment for students, eager to create a pleasant learning environment for them.
Football, tennis and chess are among the games that UHD holds annually for students. The games attract attention, and many see them as an opportunity to practice their skills and showcase their talents.
