A team of male students from the University of Human Development won first place in a Chess Championship held for public and private universities in Sulaymaniyah City, hosted by the Sports Unit at Sulaimani Polytechnic University.

The UHD team showed brilliant performance at all the matches, made it to the final and beat their rival. The team comprised five students: Ahmed Muhammed, Raman Kareem, Kawan Yaseen, Muhammed Mustafa and Rozh Majeed.  

An award-giving ceremony was held in February 2024; medals and trophies were distributed to the winners by Sulaimani Polytechnic University’s presidency.
