The College of Health Sciences and the College of Nursing ran a football contest for their students in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) and the Department of Nursing, encompassing Year 1 to Year 4. They formed five teams of 50 students and organised five matches to reach the final, which was played on May 11 between Semester 8 from MLS and Semester 4 from Nursing.
The final game ended in a tie, with each team scoring 6 goals. Extra-time was played, and to determine the winner, penalty shootout had to take place. MLS team defeated their rival and won the competition.
The contest aimed to provide entertainment for students while also promoting physical fitness and highlighting the importance of maintaining good health. Physical fitness and good health support a faster and better learning process, and sports greatly aid in that regard.
