Students at the Department of Diplomacy and Public Relations at the University of Human Development organised a panel on the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace. The panel was held a day later on April 25th at Khak Hall in Sulaymaniyah. It revolved around the importance of diplomacy for world peace and for supporting the Kurdish cause in the international arena.
The speakers were the former Iraqi ambassador and current head of President Jalal Talabani Foundation Dr Muhammed Sabir, head of the Diplomacy and Public Relations Department at UHD Mr Kardo Kareem and author and lecturer at the University of Raparin Dr Aras Ramazan. The sponsors were Karim Alaka Charity Foundation, Khak Hall and Shahram Sweets.
The panel ended with questions and comments. At the end, the organisers presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the speakers and representatives of the sponsors. Organising an event, which involves getting funds and must be in the public interest, is part of the requirement of the Event Management Course that students in Year Three at the Diplomacy Department have to complete.
