The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Human Development organised a panel titled ‘Causes of the Stock Market Crash in 2024’ which took place at the Seminar Hall on 24th November 2024.

The panellists were lecturers at the college. Both Lecturer Shorish Qadir Ali and Assistant Lecturer Salah Hassan Ahmed explored the current economic and financial crises in the world and their impacts on the global stock markets. They elaborated on the fact that the different markets and banks are all connected; hence, if there is a problem in one, the rest will be affected. They also mentioned that things are moving fast with the exchange markets; millions of dollars can be gained in an instant nowadays.

The panel also benefited from the audience’s questions and comments.
