College of Nursing at the University of Human Development supervised a training course on First-Aid for Ms Zhino Rauf Ali from Sulaymaniyah Health Development and Training Centre. Zhino is currently a PhD student in nursing. She worked as the trainer at the course.

The primary aim of the course was to learn how to provide immediate assistance to an injured or ill person until professional medical help can be obtained.

Learning First-Aid is crucial for several reasons:

Saving Lives: Immediate first aid can be the difference between life and death in critical situations such as cardiac arrest, severe bleeding, or choking.

Reducing Recovery Time: Early intervention can prevent injuries from worsening and promote faster recovery, reducing the severity of complications.

Preventing Medical Situations from Escalating: Quick and appropriate actions can prevent minor injuries or illnesses from becoming serious medical issues.

Providing Confidence to Act: Knowing first aid empowers individuals to act effectively and confidently in emergencies, reducing panic and improving outcomes.

Increasing Safety Awareness: First aid training promotes a culture of safety and awareness, encouraging preventive measures and reducing the likelihood of accidents.
