The two institutions of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Human Development and the Arab Academy in Denmark held an international virtual workshop on Zoom Platform on 27th March 2024 about the electronic payment systems and their impacts on the Iraqi economy and other aspects of life.

The speakers were Mr Shorsh Qadir Ali and Prof. Dr Asaad Hamady from the University of Human Development and Prof. Dr Sanaa Abdulqadir Mustafa from the Arab Academy in Denmark who was speaking from Norway at the time of the presentation.

The main topics discussed during the virtual workshop were: electronic payments, methods and benefits of electronic payments, avoiding/preventing the negative sides of electronic payments, and the Norway experience with this method.

Electronic payment is a new method of payment in Iraq. It is expected to have significant impact on many aspects of the economy, business and trade…etc; therefore, the importance of the subject necessitates the holding of seminars, workshops and the like by academics, intellectuals and policymakers.
