College of Science and technology at the University of Human Development (UHD) and Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights held a joint symposium on mental health at UHD Seminar Hall on 23rd November 2022.

PhD student Mr Nabaz Azwar Ahmed from Jiyan Foundation and Mr Tahsin Hamagharib, lecturer at the Law Department at UHD, were the speakers and each had 40 minutes to talk about the matter, and Mr Dana Fayeq Abid was the moderator.

The symposium was broadcast live on UHD social media.

Mr Nabaz looked at the matter from a statistical point of view and clarified several issues related to mental health and mental disorders in Kurdistan and the wider world, and Mr Tahsin looked at it from rather a philosophical point of view and explained why the inner self needs to come back to the forefront of attention as was the case in the past.
