Joint workshop at Titanic Hotel for Administration students

A joint workshop was held at Titanic Hotel in Sulaymaniyah for students of Semester Six at the College of Economics and Administration at the University of Human Development (UHD) on tourism management. It was titled ‘Tourism management: Titanic Hotel in Sulaymaniyah as an example’ and held at the Activities Hall at Titanic Hotel on 29th March 2022.

From the UHD side, Sixth Semester students of the Administration Department and two of their lecturers, namely Mr Farooq Hussein Muhammad and Mr Faraydoon Muhammad, and from the Titanic Hotel side, General Manager of the Hotel and UHD alumni Ms Hewar, Human Resources Manager and Foods and Drinks Unit Manager were present at the workshop.

The workshop was organised with a particular focus on hotel management and the distribution of roles, the role of Human Resources manager and Foods and Drinks manager within the general management of a hotel.

It aimed at introducing students in a practical way to the latest methods followed in the administration and management of hotels, hotel administration hierarchy, identifying the impediments to the implementation of quality control in tourism, and connecting students to the labour market.

Participants discussed the topics explained in the workshop by questions and comments.
