Overall, sixteen universities, both public and private, participated in the event’s various competitions, and UHD team came out on top in some games, including: acquiring the third position on Karate Competition by Mabast Fayaq Tofiq, a fourth-year student in the Department of Accounting and Zhilwan Abubakir Mahmood, third-year student in the Department of Law. And in Track and Field (in jumping) Miran Ameer Muhammed, a third-year student in the Information Technology, managed to occupy the third position.

It is worth mentioning that although UHD does not have an academic sports department it enjoys having a special unit which organises sports events for its students every year. It also has a football field on its campus and some other facilities.

The Kurdistan Universities Olympics 2024 was the first of its kind, and its organisers have said that they intend to make it annual. The event was an opportunity for students to get to know each other and develop their sports skills. The University of Human Development is proud of its students and committed to support them for a successful university life and good career in the future.
