Events of the Huawei ICT Global Competition 2023-2024 are currently going on in China with the participation of students from many countries around the world in Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Each country participates with three students which have been selected following their success in preceding local and regional competitions by Huawei.

The Iraqi team consists of three students, two of them are from the University of Human Development (UHD), College of Information and Technology, viz. Mr Brwa Shirwan Awrahman and Mr Bayad Aram Hassan. The Iraqi team is supervised by Mr Goran Saman who is a lecturer at UHD at the same college.

Choosing these students by Huawei Co. for its global competition was not an easy decision and the selection process was long and very competitive. Many students from a large number of Iraqi and Kurdistan Region universities participated in the local and regional rounds held last year, 2023. Out of hundreds of participants, the UHD students presented the shiniest and brightest skills and the most attractive ICT (Information and Communication Technology) ideas.

The University of Human Development is very proud of its participating students and wishes them all the best luck and success.

Earlier, commenting on their previous achievements at the national and regional competitions, UHD President Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed congratulated Brwa and Bayad and cited the fact that the teaching quality at UHD is of high level and very advanced; it responds to the requirements of the modern time and prepares students to face the challenges of the contemporary world.
