University of Human Development President, Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed, put his signature on a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the universities in Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the universities in Jordan. The MoU came within a wider agreement between the Ministries of Higher Educations of both Kurdistan and Jordan.  

A signing ceremony was held at Sulaimani University, 7th May 2024, with the participation of a high-ranking delegation of the Jordanian universities and presidents of all the public and private universities situated in Sulaymaniyah Governorate. The Jordanian consul to Kurdistan and Sulaymaniyah Governor attended the ceremony.

An MoU between Kurdistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Dr Aram Muhammed Qadir and Jordan’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Mamoun Al-Debaei was signed following the happenings of a forum held in Erbil on 5th May for top academics and government officials from both countries. Kurdistan and Jordan have pledged to develop relationships in all areas mainly in higher education. UHD President attended the forum together with a team from his university.
