The Pedagogy and Academic Development Training Centre at the University of Human Development held a certificate awards ceremony for the participants of its Eighth Course on 9th November 2023. Sixty-two participants graduated and were awarded certificates. They are now qualified to teach at public and private universities and higher education institutions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The Pedagogy and Academic Development Training Centre at UHD is formally licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government to train and qualify Master's and PhD degree holders to work as teachers at universities and higher education institutions. Two courses are run every year. Participants study for six months during which they receive training and acquire necessary skills in modern teaching methods. The eighth course started on 1st April and ended on 30th September 2023.

The ceremony began with a welcoming speech by the director of the centre, Asst Prof. Dr Ahmed Hama-Gharib Abdullah, then the UHD President Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed praised the efforts of the director and instructors at the centre and congratulated the participants. He mentioned that UHD serves science and education in Kurdistan. He cited UHD’s sponsorship of a special pedagogy course for a team of university lecturers – members of the team included lecturers from UHD and several public universities – at HAMK Häme University of Applied Sciences in Finland several years ago to receive training on modern teaching methods.
