Students gathered this morning at the main square of the university to express their grief and sorrow for the loss of their friend Muhammad Abdullah Jameel and pass their condolences on to his family.

Muhammad was a student at the Information Technology Department at the University of Human Development (UHD). He died in a gas explosion together with 14 other members of his family in Sulaymaniyah on 17th November 2022.

UHD President Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed spoke to the gathering and said that the whole university and all people in Kurdistan were very much affected by this tragic accident. He said that it was especially very sad for UHD to lose one of its students and prayed for Allah’s mercy on him and all those who lost their lives in the explosion.

Following the president’s speech, two friends of the late Muhammad participated in the ceremony with a speech and a poem and thanked all those who gathered there.
