Master’s Degree in finance is awarded at UHD

A Master’s Degree was awarded at the University of Human Development (UHD) in the field of finance to Mr Balen Mustafa Rasul. His thesis was discussed under the title ‘The effect of employing financial technology in improving the profitability of Islamic banks - a case study of Bahrain Islamic Bank’. The jury was held in the Seminar Hall today, 5th July 2022.

The jury members were: Prof. Dr Asaad Hamdi Muhammad Mahir from University of Human Development (head of the jury), retired Prof. Dr Saud Ghali Sabr (member), Asst Prof. Dr Ali Jalal Hussein from Sulaimani University (member) and Asst Prof. Dr Hiwa Abubakir Ali from University of Human Development (member and supervisor).

The examination of the thesis and discussion of the subject lasted about three hours, and the candidate was able to answer the questions and defended what he has written in his thesis. Finally, the jury decided to accept Mr Balen’s thesis by a unanimous vote.

The awarded degree was part of the Joint Master Programme between UHD and Sulaimani University which covers several study areas including Law, Political Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Economics, Banking and Finance, and English Language.
