Tributes paid to late UHD lecturer

Lecturer Mr Ahmed Awat from the College of Science and Technology at the University of Human Development died in a car accident together with his fiancée in the city of Sulaymaniyah on 3rd June 2022.

His students, friends and colleagues held a gathering at the University of Human Development (UHD) campus on 5th June to pay him tributes.

The UHD President Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed joined the gathering, he gave a short speech in which he expressed his deep sadness and said that he was very much affected by the death of Mr Ahmed. He mentioned that the late lecturer was somebody of high ethics and intellect.

Earlier, the UHD President expressed his sorrow and sent condolences in a message to the late Mr Ahmed’s family and friends, and prayed for his rest in the afterlife.

Condolences were also sent from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, ‘We are very saddened by the death of Mr Ahmed Awat. We’d like to send our sympathy to the University of Human Development, his friends and students, and we pray for his comfort in the next life’, the message read.
