The President of the University of Human Development Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed together with members of the Presidential Council received Prof. Dr Mohammed Rateb al-Nabulsi at the university campus today, 7^th February 2022. Al-Nabulsi is an internationally renowned and influential Muslim scholar and preacher. He has published many books on Islamic theories of education and science, the miracles of the Holy Qur’an, and other important topics. He has also given speeches at international conferences and held seminars in different countries. Al-Nabulsi was a professor at Damascus University until the Syrian Revolution in 2011. He is now settled in Jordan.

The President briefed al-Nabulsi about the University of Human Development (UHD) and its strategies; the colleges and departments, research activities, academic and scientific achievements, university’s place in national and international rankings, contributions to the development of society through unilateral or joint actions with governmental and non-governmental agencies and institutions of opening educational and technical courses for the government employees, teachers, school students and the like. He referred to the fact the UHD grants annual scholarships to tens of Syrian students who live in the Kurdistan Region as refugees. The President gave the UHD glass plaque and copies of UHD-published books and journals to al-Nabulsi.  

For his part, al-Nabulsi appreciated the UHD’s efforts to the development of knowledge and advancement of society and described UHD as a successful and necessary project by Prof. Dr Ali Qaradaghi who is the Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars. “I am very happy to be with my brothers, descendants of Salahaddin al-Ayubi. I am glad to be among your teachers as they are on a holy mission; they spread knowledge and educate people. This was the mission for which the prophets were sent as Prophet Muhammad confirms in two hadiths” said al-Nabulsi about his visit to UHD and Sulaymaniyah city.

And as part of his visit, al-Nabulsi held a seminar at Prof. Dr Ali Qaradaghi Hall for UHD teachers on the Islamic perspective to teachers’ duty and their role and position in society.
