A virtual international workshop titled (Scientific Research and Citations) was held on Zoom platform between the International Islamic University Malaysia, the Union of Arab Statisticians in Jordan and the University of Human Development in Iraq on Saturday 15^th January 2022 (10:00 p.m. Malaysia time, 4:00 p.m. Jordan time and 5:00 p.m. Iraq time).

The workshop covered two topics. The first topic was delivered by Prof. Dr Muzhir Al-Ani from the University of Human Development. It included the steps and types of scientific research, how to choose the research topic, and what is the best way to define the research problem and propose solutions. Dr Muzhir also discussed the basic structure of research paper and clarified it further with practical examples.   

The second topic was delivered by Prof. Dr Akram Muhammad Zaki from the International Islamic University Malaysia. He explained how to make references in research and raise the level of research citations. He also talked about the importance of scientific research in the international classification of universities – one important step is choosing the appropriate journal to publish your research. Research citations and raising their levels were two issues that were lengthily addressed in the workshop.
