Joint international workshop on teacher education and language teaching in linguistically diverse contexts

On May 16, 2021, the University of Human Development - College of Languages, English Department along with Umea University – Sweden and University of Sulaimani jointly organised a three-hour international workshop on Teacher Education and Language Teaching in Linguistically Diverse Contexts. The workshop was part of the joint partnership agreement between the University of Human Development and Umea University. 

The international workshop was jointly moderated by Prof. Annika Nourland Shaswar from Umea University, Mr Louay Haji from the University of Human Development and Ms Bahra Rashid from the University of Sulaimani. 

The international workshop aimed to share and exchange ideas on teacher education programmes, linguistics diversity, interculturalism in education and discussion of relevant academic articles. Rich and rewarding discussion groups were conducted and participants from different universities actively shared their views on the presented topics and themes. At the end of the workshop, participants agreed to expand their partnership and organise further joint workshops, seminars, joint research to enrich the educational sector in their universities.
