Nursing Department
The nursing programme at the University of Human Development (UHD) is designed for those who wish to be highly skilled and qualified nurses in the future. The nursing programme prepares students to provide direct care to patients in acute and long-term care, and health promotion in many diverse settings. The nursing programme is composed of general medical science and nursing sciences modules. The courses of nursing are taken in sequences and must achieve a minimum of 50% of overall marks in each module. UHD nursing programme is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Level Degree:
Students who fulfil the university and college requirements and pass all of the offered courses will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Duration:
The B.Sc. programme will be completed in 8 semesters which takes 4 years. In each semester the student will be offered 30 ECTS.
Teaching System:
The teaching system will be carried out on the basis of theoretical and practical classes. Students will be given the opportunity to practice and gain skills in realistic environments in highly equipped modern laboratories and hospital internships. Teachers and students will play an equally active role in the process of learning, in which teachers will facilitate student learning and overall comprehension of materials. The students will be assessed by teachers through different ways of assessment paper-based exams and class activity and participation.
