Diplomacy and Public Relations Department
The Department of Diplomacy and Public Relations combines two important disciplines, namely Diplomacy and Public Relations as the name suggests. It provides the necessary knowledge and skills to those who wish to represent their country abroad or work in public relations offices, e.g., act as liaisons for public and private institutions. The Department strives to be the best in preparing students for the diplomatic positions abroad that are being created by the Kurdistan Regional Government or the Iraqi Federal Government and, to that end, it uses the English Language as the medium of instruction – all the subjects are studied in English.
The Department implements the Bologna System in its educational process. Students have to complete eight semesters and must achieve a minimum of 50% of overall marks in each module to be able to receive a Bachelor's Degree.
It is worth mentioning that all members of the teaching staff at the Diplomacy and Public Relations Department hold degrees from prestigious universities in Europe and North America.
The Department of Diplomacy and Public Relations continues to maintain its central position in providing the necessary knowledge and practical skills to its students in various fields of diplomacy and public relations. It carries on with research publication, holding and participating in seminars, webinars, debates, workshops, symposiums, forums, conferences and other academic gatherings at the national and international levels. It works on preserving its positive image and promoting the name of the whole institution (University of Human Development) among the world universities and academic centres.
The Department of Diplomacy and Public Relations aims to become the leading centre in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and in all of Iraq for preparing students for various diplomatic positions that are being created by the Kurdistan Regional Government or Iraqi Federal Government abroad and performing the tasks in the most professional manner, also preparing students for the public relations tasks at the public and private agencies and institutions. The Department intends to become an important centre of research and novelty in areas related to diplomacy and public relations and to become a hub for gathering scholars and researchers to discuss and analyse contemporary issues of diplomacy and public relations from an academic perspective.
