The President of the University of Human Development (UHD), Professor Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed, received Professor Dr Zana Raouf Hama Kareem in his office on 24th September 2026, to honour him following his decision to step down from his academic post.

Professor Dr Zana Raouf Hama Kareem has served with distinction as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of University of Human Development since its foundation in 2015. He recently decided to step aside, expressing his firm belief that it was time for new leadership to take charge and guide the journal into its next chapter of academic success.

Recognising his tireless dedication and sincere contributions, Professor Dr Mariwan hosted a special farewell ceremony for Dr Zana and presented him with a formal certificate of appreciation. During the event, the University President emphasised that JUHD has expanded significantly and flourished under Dr Zana’s leadership. He expressed his deepest gratitude for the departing editor's unremitting efforts, which have been essential in building the journal's prestigious academic reputation.

In response, Professor Zana expressed his appreciation for the President’s continuous support throughout his tenure. He also conveyed his gratitude for the ceremony, noting that this support had always been a significant factor in the journal’s development.
