UHD lecturer speaks at an international forum in London

College of Law and Politics lecturer, Dr Radhwan Abubakr, was a speaker at the CHMK London Forum, the 3rd CHMK National Forum for Media Reform convened by SOAS, University of London on July 8-9, 2026.
The theme of the forum was Media Reform in Post-Conflict Regions, focusing on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Dr Abubakr addressed the importance of the financial independence of media. He highlighted the issue of financial dependency of Kurdish media and the consequences of that for their freedom and manoeuvrability.
Dr Abubakr received a Certificate of Distinguished Contribution, which was presented to him by Assoc. Prof. Dr Shwan Adam Aivan, General Coordinator of the CHMK National Forums.
