Students go mountain walking in Baranan

The Student Unit at the University of Human Development arranged a mountain walk for students
on Friday, November 7, 2025, to Hazarmed Cave on Baranan Mountain in Sulaymaniyah.
Hazarmed is the second-largest cave in the Kurdistan Region. It was home to ancient people who
lived thousands of years ago.
A number of students from different departments participated in the walk. They brought snacks and
water with them and sat down in groups to entertain themselves after reaching the cave. It looked
like a great day for them.
The Student Unit organises mountain walks in autumn, winter, and spring, aiming to create
entertainment and leisure, but also for students to see the beauty of the Kurdistan mountains and
enjoy nature.
