2024-11-26
Four students from the College of Science and Technology at the University of Human Development (UHD) won the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025, which was held for Iraqi universities. The company previously held a preparatory round and qualified nine students from all Iraqi universities to enter the competition, which was held on three tracks: Cloud, Computing, and Network. UHD students managed to occupy the first place in Cloud and Computing tracks.
The Huawei ICT Competition is an annual event, first held at the country level, then the regional level, and finally at the global level. The final round will be in China, and prizes are awarded to the winners according to their performance. The company will have a Grand Prize, First, Second, and Third Prizes, and Other Honourable Awards.
Last year, UHD students made it to the final and won the First Prize. This was a significant achievement since two out of the three students who made up the Iraqi team were students at UHD, and thanks to the knowledge and expertise of the UHD students, Iraq was among the winners of the First Prize in the Competition. UHD President, Professor Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed, congratulated the administrative and teaching staff at the College of Science and Technology and their bright students for their outstanding success and wished them further achievement in the upcoming rounds. He has said on other occasions that the success of UHD students in local and international competitions is a sign that UHD provides high-quality education and prepares its students to be leaders in their field of work.
