College of Science and Technology at the
University of Human Development hosted a panel on ‘Agentic AI and Automation AI’
featuring two AI experts, held at Professor Dr Ali Qaradaghi Hall on 12th
December 2025. The panellists were Dr Ranj Tareq and Dr Muhammed Essa, both of
whom work at Asiacell Telecommunication Company, and the panel moderator was Dr
Mazen Ismail, who is the head of the Artificial Intelligence Department at the
University of Human Development. The panellists shared their work experience
with the audience, who were largely students from the three departments of the
College of Science and Technology, namely the Information Technology
Department, Computer Department, and Artificial Intelligence Department, as
well as several lecturers. Dr Tareq shed light on a few issues
connected to the work of AI at his company, including the prediction of future
behaviours of their subscribers. He provided some details, stating that based
on their subscribers’ performance, their purchases and usage of the company’s
services, they can, for example, predict potential future loss of customers and
gain a better understanding of the market. Dr Essa focused on AI and psychology,
stating that the two are connected in many ways. He highlighted the fact that
gaining or losing popularity is largely related to the psychology of people;
one platform becomes popular primarily because it aligns with how people think,
what they want, and what stimulates them. On a rather different but connected
issue, he advised students to use AI but with caution. He said that you are not
the tool, and the AI is not human; it is the other way around. You must be in
control of what you want and how to use it to your own advantage. Dr Ismail concluded the panel with a few
significant remarks.
