The IDPs Situation in an International Symposium at the University of Human Development

With the attendance of Prof. Dr. Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed (the university president) and some of the university council, today 18/12/2017 the College of Administration and Economics with the help of Development Center for Research and Training (DCRT) an international symposium was held entitled “Managing the Camps of IDPs and Refugees”.
The symposium was held in Prof. Dr. Ali Qaradaghi hall and was attended by a number of faculty members, students, guests and media outlets. At its beginning, the dean of the College of Administration and Economics welcomed the attendants denote to the significance of this event expressing his thankfulness to Sulaimani Governorate and UNHCR and the value of their participation in this symposium.
The symposium was in three parts: at the start assistant lecturer Falah Hassan Ahmed, a faculty member at the University of Human Development presented his topic entitled “Managing and Organizing Camps at times of Emergency”, the second part was entitled “Confronting Emergencies Surprising Situations within Camps” that was presented by Baba-Rasul Ghafoor Isaa the Director of Crisis Coordination at Sulaimani Governorate. The third part was presented by Kamaran Ali, the field manager of camps at UNHCR that was entitled “The Role of International Organizations in Cooperation and Facilitation”.
At the end of the symposium, the attendants and presenters enriched the subject with their questions and elaborations.
